• The fee for new Development Licenses includes the first year’s Annual Subscription.
• The license includes:
  • A 3-User DataFlex Windows Client with Connectivity Kits for MS-SQL, DB2, ODBC and Pervasive.SQL for internal development, testing and production use with applications within the Studio user’s company.
  • A distributable Evaluation Windows Client to enable commercial software developers to freely distribute trial copies of their application products.
  • A DataFlex Web App Server License for development and testing and use only. As of 17.1 production use of the included DataFlex WebApp Server is not allowed.
  • A sub-license to use and deploy Codejock Software’s Xtreme ReportControl™, Xtreme CommandBars™ and Xtreme SkinFramework™ ActiveX controls with DataFlex Windows applications
• The Windows Client and Connectivity Kit Licenses included with Studio may only be used by the company that purchases the DataFlex Studio license. Additional users or production use licenses can be purchased for the Windows Client, Connectivity Kit and DataFlex WebApp Server License; additional Windows Client, Connectivity Kit and DataFlex WebApp Server Licenses can be purchased to deploy applications at multiple locations or customer sites.

• The DataFlex Windows client is licensed solely for the execution of Windows desktop Application Software. It is not licensed for any form of use in which 1) End Users access the resources of the DataFlex Windows Client over the internet or 2) End Users or other programs or processes or third-party products execute Application Software using the DataFlex Windows Client where the End User, other program or process or third party product requests and/or responses originate over the internet and/or where data is served by the DataFlex Windows Client over the internet.

Named user licenses

Notes

• a Web Client License entitles each named user to Use the resources of a DataFlex WebApp Server. This license is the web equivalent of DataFlex Windows Client Licenses for desktop applications.
• All Web Client licenses include connectivity entitlement.

Application based licenses

• All Application Licenses are per Physical or Virtual Server.
• DataFlex WebApp Standby Servers
  Standby servers provide customers with the entitlement to have a pre-configured secondary server instance (all software installed, ready to activate for production Use) in the event of the failure of a primary production server. as a discounted, special purpose server, the secondary standby and the primary server must never operate concurrently (production server stops; standby server automatically takes over)
  Two types of Standby Server Licenses are available:
  • Hot Standby Server – a Hot Standby Server is defined as an up-and-running secondary server instance that is automatically activated by third party software upon the failure of a primary server instance.
    • Price: 50% of the price of the server license that the Hot Standby Server will replace.
  • Cold Standby Server – a Cold Standby Server is defined as a configured but non-running secondary server instance that is manually started upon the failure of a primary server instance.
    • Price: 25% of the price of the server license that the Cold Standby Server will replace.
  • The SPLF Connection License enables advanced security and load balancing functionality. For every added DataFlex Web Application Server in an SPLF pool, it is required to add an SPLF Connection License and a Server License based on the number of Applications.

IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server & ODBC

Notes:

• The fee for new Connectivity Kit Licenses includes the first year’s Annual Subscription.
• When DataFlex Web Application Server or DataFlex CM applications are installed in a server environment, a Connectivity Kit Server License must be purchased and installed on each server computer hosting a connected application.
• Above product includes the current versions of the Connectivity Kit for Pervasive.SQL and the ODBC Connectivity Kit (with Embedded SQL Support).
• The number of users for a licenses can be incremented by adding the required number of additional users (e.g 50-users + 20-users = 70 users).

ODBC Lite Edition

Notes:

• The Lite Edition is intended for adding database connectivity to an existing DataFlex single-user distribution license.
• The Lite Edition does not provide Embedded SQL support and is licensed as a low-cost distribution license. For a one-time fee, developers may distribute the Lite Edition with DataFlex or DataFlex applications.
• When DataFlex Web Application Server or DataFlex CM applications are installed in a server environment, a Connectivity Kit Server License must be purchased and installed on each server computer hosting a connected application.
